STEPHEN T. PERKINS
Stephen represents a variety of clients in corporate, insurance, and commercial litigation. He earned an A.B. in politics magna cum laude from Princeton University in 1987, and a J.D. with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1990. Stephen also studied international and EU law at the Faculteit Rechtsgeleerdheid at the Rijksuniversiteit te Leiden in the Netherlands.
Before coming to Richmond, Virginia to start his own law practice, Stephen counseled domestic and international business clients and also worked in antitrust, RICO, trade secrets, and securities litigation at Hoffman Sutterfield Ensenat & Bankston, APLC in New Orleans, Louisiana. He also worked in antitrust, securities litigation, and health law at the Richmond, Virginia law firm of LeClair Ryan, PC.
Most recently, Stephen was general counsel of a start-up telecommunications company, helping a two-market venture grow into one of the largest competitors in the mid-Atlantic, with a long-haul network that stretched from the southeastern United States into Canada. During his tenure in telecommunications, he litigated a number of cases involving competitive access to essential facilities. Stephen brings to MDDL his vast experiences and expertise in the law.
Stephen, also known as "Sparky," enjoys spending time with his wife, young son, and three collies. He has been active in Princeton alumni affairs, collie rescue efforts and several local, state, and specialty bar associations.
