JAMES R. MCKENRY
Jim McKenry attended undergraduate and law school, at the University of Virginia, graduating in 1962. He is licensed to practice before all Virginia State and Appellate Courts and the Supreme Court of the United States
Specialties include: Family Law, Criminal law, and Civil Litigation.
Bar Activities: Chaired the Public Defender Commission, which established the Public Defender System in the Commonwealth of Virginia; member Virginia Beach Bar Association, President 1973; Executive Committee of the Virginia State Bar; Executive Committee of the Virginia Bar Association, serving as Secretary-Treasurer; President of the Virginia Law Foundation; member of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association;
Served on Committee for Lawyer Discipline and Committee for Legal Ethics; Serves as Continuing Legal Education Lecturer
Honors: Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation, which is based on contributions to the law and the community, and is limited to 1% of the attorneys licensed in Virginia ; Fellow of the American Bar Association Foundation; Faculty Professionalism Course; Virginia Beach Bar Association’s Public Service Award in 2000
