JAMES C. MCCAA, III
Jim McCaa’s practice for the last 20 plus years has been devoted almost exclusively to defending a wide variety of civil litigation and subrogation matters, usually at the request of liability insurance companies. He has successfully defended motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, large products liability, fire, toxic tort and contractual dispute cases. His clients include individuals, small business owners, large corporations and insurance companies. Jim also regularly advises insurance companies on coverage and liability issues.
Jim graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1971 then attended Memphis State University for his J.D., 1974. He was the Assistant City Attorney, West Memphis, Arkansas, 1978-1985. He was Instructor for Business Law at East Arkansas Community College, West Memphis, Arkansas, 1984-1985.
Jim was admitted to the Arkansas and Tennessee Bar in 1974 and the Virginia Bar in 1985. He was admitted to U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, 1985 and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, 1991. His professional memberships are Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association, Virginia Beach Bar Association, Virginia State Bar and the Virginia association of Defense Attorneys.
Jim enjoys living in Virginia Beach and is devoted to his family when not at work.
